Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of DC Engineering to join our dynamic team. As Head of Data Center Engineering, you'll provide strategic vision and technical expertise for our initial BoD, leading 3rd party engineering firms and eventually hiring an internal engineering team to deliver best-in-class data center solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

• Develop a Basis of Design that meets both today’s standards and tomorrow’s expected high-density liquid cooling standards.

• Manage all technical aspects of the pre-construction project (site plan, permitting, utility interconnection/energization, schematic design) in collaboration with the SVP of Site Development

• Develop and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with Metrobloks' goals and objectives. Stay on top of trends. Be a technical thought leader.

• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of cutting-edge data center solutions.

• Ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our infrastructure.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to help qualify new potential sites.

• Manage 3rd party service providers and establish strategic partnership relationships

• Evaluate procurement strategies of long lead equipment MEP in collaboration with the COO (OFCI vs. CFCI).

• Build out a technical team and evaluate the need for in-house vs. 3rd party expertise.

• Mentor and develop engineering talent, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated experience managing the successful design, construction, and operation of large-scale data centers is crucial. Experience with sustainable data center design is highly desirable.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a senior engineering leadership role, preferably in the data center or related technology sectors.

• In-depth knowledge of data center design with either a specialty in electrical engineering or mechanical (cooling). With knowledge of construction methods and delivery management, commissioning (IST), and operations.

• Experience with leading-edge data center technologies, including power, cooling, and IT infrastructure is a plus.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Strong technical background with a deep understanding of data center architecture, network infrastructure, and cloud technologies.

• Demonstrated success in leading and scaling engineering teams.

• Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a remote environment.

• Entrepreneurial skills and passion for innovation and a track record of driving technological advancements.
